Short answer: no. The referral field appears once, during account creation. There is no setting to add a code later and support cannot apply one retroactively. If you have already signed up without one, this page is about what you can still do.
Why people expect this to work
Most consumer apps let you paste a promo code at checkout, any time you like. Crypto referral programmes do not work that way, and FOMO is typical of the category rather than unusually strict.
The reason is structural. A referral code is not a coupon applied to a transaction — it is an attribution link between two accounts, written when the second account is created. The 10% discount is a property of your account, not of any individual trade. Once the account exists without that link, there is nothing to attach the discount to.
This is also why the discount lasts for the lifetime of the account rather than expiring like a coupon would. The same design that makes it permanent makes it unavailable afterwards. You cannot have one without the other.
What does not work
- Contacting support. The discount is applied by the signup flow, not granted by an agent. There is no switch to flip.
- Entering a code in Settings. The field is not there. Settings → Rewards shows whether a discount is active; it does not let you add one.
- Uninstalling and reinstalling. Reinstalling the app does not create a new account. Your login restores the same one.
- Creating a second account to get the discount. Do not. Multi-accounting is against the terms of most referral programmes and risks both accounts. The saving is 0.05 percentage points per trade — it is not worth a ban.
What you can still do
Size your trades properly. This is worth far more than the code was. FOMO charges 0.50% per trade with a $0.95 minimum on Solana, so trades under about $190 pay the minimum instead of the percentage. A $20 trade costs 4.75%. A $200 trade costs 0.50%. Trading in larger blocks saves you multiples of what a referral code would have. The full fee maths shows the break-even at every size.
Use your own code. Your account has a referral code, and it is worth more to you than the discount you missed. FOMO pays commission in real time as your referrals trade, runs Silver, Gold and Platinum bonus tiers, caps nothing, and asks for no minimum follower count. It does not publish the commission rate — you will see yours in your affiliate dashboard. We wrote up what the programme documents and what it doesn't.
Use a code on the next one. If you open an account on another venue, enter the code first. The rule is the same nearly everywhere: signup only, one chance, permanent if you take it.
If you have not signed up yet
Then this page is a warning rather than a diagnosis. Enter VIP10 in the referral field during account creation, before you finish the flow. Then open Settings → Rewards and confirm the discount is showing as active before your first trade. Checking takes ten seconds and is the only moment you can still fix it.
