FOMO app review: fees, risks and evidence

FOMO combines token discovery, a social trading feed and an embedded wallet. Its published fee bands make order size important, and its referral terms leave several conditions unspecified. This review evaluates public documentation and historical public data; it is not an account-level trading test.

Our assessment and its limits

The documented product may suit someone who wants token discovery and social activity in one interface. It does not supply automatic copy trading, protect against token losses or eliminate execution costs. Compare the fee for your actual order and the product restrictions that apply to you before deciding whether the workflow fits.

We removed the previous 8.2/10 rating because no reproducible scoring method or sufficient first-hand test record supported it. We have not measured onboarding time, trade execution, support responsiveness or withdrawals. The evidence register shows what we checked and what remains untested.

What FOMO does

FOMO Labs publishes a social crypto trading app with a feed of trades, trader profiles and a leaderboard. The current help centre lists Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Ethereum and Robinhood Chain accessible through one cash balance. Routing is handled by the service; availability of a chain does not mean every token or product is available in every jurisdiction.

FOMO's copy-trading article says it has no copy-trading feature. Following a trader shows activity; it does not automatically replicate positions. Sending funds to another user is a direct wallet transfer. Neither action transfers someone else's skill or guarantees their result.

What an ordinary spot order costs

The fee article, read on 18 September 2026, specifies four ordinary Solana bands. A buy and sell each incur a fee based on their own value. The examples below exclude selected majors and costs outside FOMO's own fee.

OrderStandard FOMO feeReferral treatment
2 USDC0.10 USDCSmall-band discount unspecified
20 USDC0.40 USDCSmall-band discount unspecified
50 USDC0.95 USDCSmall-band discount unspecified
190 USDC0.95 USDC0.855 USDC before quote rounding at 0.45%
1,000 USDC5 USDC4.50 USDC at the documented standard referral rate

The other supported networks use a published 0.50% ordinary spot rate plus network fees. Selected major tokens use separate 0.05% pricing; below 1,000 USDC the article describes a minimum of no more than 0.50 USDC, without one exact formula for every token. Check the token label and quote.

On Solana, FOMO says it covers network gas, priority fees and token rent. That does not imply every possible transaction cost is included: token-contract or liquidity-pool fees and price impact are separate considerations. A low platform fee cannot compensate for a poor execution price.

Use the full fee breakdown and calculator to separate cost categories. Choose a trade size for your own constraints; do not increase market exposure solely to reach a lower percentage fee.

What the referral offer does and does not establish

FOMO's standard documentation reduces 0.50% to 0.45%. We have not established an unconditional lifetime duration or the exact discount treatment of small-order bands, selected-major pricing or perps. The official terms permit programme changes.

VIP10's public URL displays the 10% offer, but an unvalidated control string produced the same template. We therefore do not treat a public landing as account acceptance. The relevant account status and fee quote must be checked in the app.

There is no self-service code field after signup. FOMO describes support-assisted attachment when signup through a link left no referrer, and changing an existing referrer on request. Choose the support route for your situation; no approval time or retroactive saving is promised.

FOMO documents a reduction from its standard 0.50% fee to 0.45%. Duration and discounts on other fee bands are not specified. The public VIP10 page displays this offer; account acceptance has not been independently tested here. Check the fee in your account. Terms can change.

Custody, security and token risk

FOMO describes its wallet as non-custodial and uses Privy for wallet infrastructure. The terms place responsibility for login credentials and private keys on the user. Embedded signup can avoid writing down a seed phrase, but it does not eliminate account compromise, software, protocol or recovery risk.

We have not audited FOMO's code, custody implementation or security controls. Funding announcements, an app-store listing and a non-custodial label do not provide that assurance. For a personal security decision, evaluate the access and recovery mechanisms and the amount exposed to the service.

A verified token checkmark means the team reviewed it. Current published eligibility requires $1 million daily volume, $5 million market cap, unique metadata and 1,000 unique holders. FOMO explicitly says verification does not guarantee price, liquidity or future availability. Eligibility for review is not proof of safety.

Getting money in and out

The account documentation describes Apple ID or Google signup. Additional payment and withdrawal steps can have provider eligibility and identity requirements. We have not tested which local cards succeed, or compared deposit and withdrawal completion rates across countries.

FOMO describes U.S. bank withdrawals through Spritz with identity verification and a $5 minimum. Fast withdrawals are described as same-day when started between 9 AM and 5 PM Eastern on a business day; regular withdrawals are described as 1–3 business days. Those are separate speed options, not a guarantee that every request submitted in office hours arrives that day.

Crypto withdrawals depend on the supported asset and receiving network. Read the withdrawal guide and the provider's current instructions. Never treat an app screenshot of a completed withdrawal as evidence of this site's own successful withdrawal.

Perps and location restrictions

FOMO documents a 0.05% perps fee on opening and closing transactions, plus Hyperliquid fees. Funding is separate. Fees based on position notional can be large relative to margin when leverage is used. The perps guide separates these costs.

Perps are unavailable to U.S. persons, and other jurisdiction restrictions apply. Robinhood derivative tokens have additional exclusions. We do not describe the product as working worldwide or infer legal eligibility merely because an app can be downloaded. Read the current official terms for your situation.

Company history and external feedback

FOMO's June 2026 announcement reported a $75 million Series B led by Index Ventures. Historical funding and reported user counts describe company history; they do not independently establish product reliability, regulation or solvency today.

We removed the generalized Reddit-sentiment claim because no linked sample and collection method supported it. A historical Trustpilot snapshot could not be freshly retrieved in the earlier automated run; we do not present it here as a verified current score or representative complaint rate.

What do app-store ratings and written reviews tell us?

We read the U.S. store listings on 19 September 2026. These are platform scores, not our verdict or a measure of investment safety.

SourceScore shownCount and scope
Apple App Store, U.S.4.8/519,591 ratings in Apple's lookup response; the listing rounds this to 20K Ratings. iOS version 1.92.1.
Google Play, U.S. English4.5/56.04K reviews in the header; 5.96K reviews in the phone section. We keep these distinct.

Ratings and written reviews are different populations. Counts, device filters and territories are not interchangeable, so these figures do not establish that one platform is more reliable.

Read the words alongside the stars

The Apple cards include support praise and concerns about trading, balances and withdrawals. One critical author says the high rating seeks visibility. We have not independently verified these reports.

The three Google Play cards praise speed and stability, but describe syncing and starting or stopping entries without establishing a trading outcome. Two display names also contain a referral offer. Neither promotional profile text nor an app-store score verifies a code's benefit.

What to check in your own situation

  • Small orders: older fee complaints are not the current schedule. Use the four published Solana fee bands for the relevant amount.
  • Withdrawals: distinguish a displayed balance, the chosen withdrawal method and actual receipt. Our withdrawal guide separates the published routes.
  • Support: one reported good or bad outcome is not a response-time guarantee. The referral help guide prepares the relevant account question.

We included every written review card returned in these two listing snapshots: four Apple cards after removing duplicated expanded copies, and three Google Play cards. The platform chose the display order. This is not a random sample, a complete review archive or a complaint-rate study. We retain partial and relative dates as shown.

How to compare alternatives fairly

Compare the same network, token class, order amount and cost definition. Include separate network and protocol costs, and distinguish cashback received later from an upfront fee reduction. FOMO's small-order bands can produce a different result from its headline 0.50%.

Our comparisons with GMGN, Axiom and Moonshot explain published schedules. They are not controlled execution studies. Feature availability and source freshness should be considered alongside arithmetic.

What would strengthen this review?

Genuine dated onboarding evidence, documented account acceptance, matched fee quotes and consented support observations would answer questions public documents cannot. Each observation needs its device, version, task, source file and limitations. Actual settlement and withdrawal tests are a separate evidence level. Until such evidence exists, this review remains a source-based assessment without a numeric score.
